Supply, Construction and Commissioning of 220kV Salang Tunnel Substation and 20kV Network
Project Description: Supply, Construction, and Commissioning of 220 kV Salang Tunnel Substation and 20kV Network was signed with Usluel-Omran JV company on September 28, 2016. The substation is planned to be constructed in Parwan province, Salang district and it will electrify the Salang Tunnel and a small distribution grid. the Salang Substation will have two step down transformers with rating of 4MVA, 220/20kV each and five Auxiliary distribution transformers with rating of 20kV/400V each. the project started on April 18th, 2017.

Expected Results: Based on the scope of work for this project, a High Voltage 220kV Substation for Salang Tunnel will be constructed along with a 20kV Network near the South Entrance of the Salang Tunnel, at Gowarah Sang, Afghanistan. This project will include a new substation for the Tunnel, residence building, and medium voltage (MV) distribution system.
