Project Description: "The Transmission Line is a 500 kV single circuit transmission line which starts from Shebergan. The Line ends at Dasht-e-Alwan substation and is approximately 306 km in length. The planned transmission line is located in the north-west of Afghanistan, traversing several provinces like Faryab, Jawzjan, Balkh, Samangan and Baghlan. The line altitude varies upto 2000 meter passing through flat or mildly hilly, rocky and barren terrain. Proposed conductor configuration is Triple bundle ACSR Bison; one earth-wire and one OPGW with 48 optical fibres. The proposed tower type is Y type enabling horizontal configuration of phases equipped with ā€œIā€ string insulator sets for the outer phases, and ā€œVā€ string insulator set for the middle phase. There are approximately 829 Steel Lattice towers in the projects that need to install. The duration of the project is 900 days (30 months)."
